Welcome
For the first time in a long time, St Christopher's is staging a church camp. We will gather at Camp Wainui (203 Coast Rd, Lower Hutt) on the evening of Friday 15 May and share time, food, and worship together until after lunch on Sunday. This will be an event for all ages, and we hope you can make it.
Why?
We want to build up our sense of what it means to be a Christian community together in Tawa - in short, to get to know each other better. As a church, we want as well to know God better. We think church camp will help towards both of these goals.
What will the programme look like?
- Friday: Arrive by 7.30pm for welcome and team-building
- Saturday: Morning session, afternoon activities, evening concert, possibly a late-night movie
- Sunday: All-generation communion service, lunch
Eating
You will need to eat before you arrive on Friday night. All meals will be provided on Saturday, and breakfast and lunch will be provided on Sundays. Our event will be self-catered under the vision and guidance of Paul Rogers. If you have any special dietary requirements, please indicate the registration form.

Accommodation
You will be accommodated in a bunkroom, with four or five in each bunkroom. We also have the option of setting up a tent hub for teenagers on the field adjacent to the bunk lodges.
What to bring
- Sufficient clothing, both for indoors and for outdoors (there will be an option for bush-walking on the Saturday)
- Boardgames, puzzles
- Sports gear
- A Bible
- Anything you might need for the camp concert
- A torch or headtorch
- Sleeping bag and pillow
- Plus all the usual things you need for a weekend away
Can I come for a day or part-day only?
Yes! We realise that for some, bunking belongs to the past and not the present! The cost for a day or part-day (assuming you stay for a meal) is $30. You might like to come on the Saturday for leisure activites, or on the Sunday morning for the communion service together. More information will follow about the exact times once the camp schedule has been finalised.

Camp Wainui is located at 203 Coast Road, Lower Hutt. You need to travel through Lower Hutt, over the hill to Wainuiomata and then through Wainuiomata until you are heading south once more on the Coast Road. See this map.
